GRAND TOUR OF POLAND

Warsaw – Gdansk – Torun – Wroclaw – Zakopane – Krakow

Day 1: WARSAW

Landing in Warsaw.

Arrive at Warsaw Chopin Airport, where you will be transferred to your hotel. Enjoy a welcome dinner this evening.

OVERNIGHT: Warsaw

Day 2: WARSAW – GDANSK (359 km)

Breakfast at the hotel. Morning half day tour of Warsaw including Royal Route with its famous statues, buildings and churches; the Royal Lazienki Park with F. Chopin’s monument and numerous edifices like e.g. Palace on the Water. Old Town area, listed on UNESCO World Heritage List, features the Royal Castle Square with Royal Castle, St John’s Cathedral , the picturesque Old Town Market Square.

Lunch at restaurant.

In the afternoon we drive to Gdansk, for overnight.

OVERNIGHT: Gdansk

Day 3: GDANSK

Breakfast at the hotel. Sightseeing of Gdansk & Sopot, including a walk along Sopot pier. In Gdansk stroll along Dluga Street with Artus Court and Neptune fountain, symbol of Gdansk. Drive to the Gates of Gdansk Shipyard where “Solidarity” Union started, which later led to the collapse of Communist regime in Eastern Europe. Transfer to Gdansk Oliwa Cathedral famous for Rococo pipe-organ. Additionally stop in Sopot – Baltic SPA city; walk along the pier in Sopot – the longest in Europe. Overnight in Gdansk.

OVERNIGHT: Gdansk

Day 4: GDANSK – MALBORK – TORUN (221 km)

Breakfast at the hotel. Departure for Torun with en route visit of imposing Teutonic Knights’ Castle in Malbork – listed on UNESCO World Heritage List, an outstanding example of medieval defensive construction. In the afternoon tour of Torun Old Town- listed on UNESCO World Heritage List. Unique example of Gothic architecture with churches, burghers’ houses, defensive walls; en route also the Statue of Nicolaus Copernicus- famous citizen of Torun.

OVERNIGHT: Torun

Day 5: TORUN – WROCLAW (287 km)

Breakfast at the hotel. This morning journey to Wroclaw. In the afternoon sightseeing of Wroclaw called the city of hundred bridges. Old Town features Town Hall and picturesque tenement houses. Visit to Ostrow Tumski- the oldest part of the city.

Dinner at restaurant or hotel.

OVERNIGHT: Wroclaw

Day 6: WROCLAW – CZESTOCHOWA – AUSCHWITZ – ZAKOPANE (421 km)

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to Zakopane via Czestochowa and Auschwitz. En route visit to Jasna Gora Monastery in Czestochowa- Marian Shrine with the miraculous picture of Black Madonna. Further on stop at Auschwitz (up to a 3 hour stop) – the biggest Nazi concentration camp of World War II (on UNESCO World Heritage List). Evening arrival in Zakopane, with overnight in Zakopane.

OVERNIGHT: Zakopane

Day 7: ZAKOPANE – KRAKOW (124 km)

Breakfast at the hotel. Morning city tour of Zakopane. We see the exquisite local wooden architecture in Zakopane before hopping onto the funicular railway to Mt. Gubałówka, one of the most beautiful peaks in the Tatras, to view the dramatic scenery.

Lunch at restaurant.

In the afternoon drive to Krakow.

OVERNIGHT: Krakow

Day 8: KRAKOW – WIELICZKA – KRAKOW

Breakfast at the hotel. Morning tour to Wieliczka. Descent into the underground chambers of the Wieliczka Salt Mines for an unparalleled tour of the medieval galleries, chapels and halls carved out of rock and salt deposits. All you’ve heard about this place is true; there is nothing like it in the world.

In the afternoon free time in Krakow.

OVERNIGHT: Krakow

Day 9: KRAKOW

Breakfast at the hotel. Tour of Krakow including entrance to St. Mary’s Church & Wawel Castle. Stroll in Old Town area listed on UNESCO World Heritage List. Enroute the Barbican, Florianska Gate and Collegium Maius courtyard (Jagiellonian University, the oldest in Europe ). In the Main Market Square; Cloth Hall ( Sukiennice ) and St Mary’s Church. Walk to Wawel Hill with Royal Castle- one of the most magnificent Renaissance residences in Europe.

Dinner at restaurant or hotel.

OVERNIGHT: Krakow

Day 10: DEPARTURE KRAKOW

Breakfast at the hotel. After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your departure flight.
