The special project of West Express Lithuanian Jerusalem organizes various tours to Lithuania, as well as to Latvia, Estonia, Russia and Byelorussia, specializing in tours for people of Jewish origin. First Jews moved to Lithuania in the 14th century already. In the 18th century, after the existence of Vilna Gaon, Vilnius turned into Yerushalaim d'Lita (Lithuanian Jerusalem), one of the important centres of Jewish culture, religion, education and scholarship.

Active Jewish communities existed also in the small settlements all over Lithuania. In the early 20th century Litvaks (Lithuanian Jews) composed a significant part in the population of the country. The tragedy of Lithuanian Jews during the WWII was horrible, over 90 % of them died.
